Vets win “Battle of Hwy 59” game … again !!

The Navy Vets got back to their winning ways with a 4-1 win over the Norwich Merchants on Saturday night at Southwood Arena.
Their winning streak of 6 games had been snapped with a 5-3 loss in New Hamburg on Friday night.
This was the 5th game this season in the “Battle of Hwy 59” series and the Vets have won them all !!
Nolan Brett, Kyle Baker and Jonah Jacksteit each had 1 goal and 1 assist … Mack Easter and Caden Bower had 2 assists each while Patrick Klazer chipped in an assist.
Graeme Noye made his 2nd straight start in net and made 21 saves for the victory.
They Vets built a 3-0 lead by the end of the 2nd period and fired 58 shots in the game at the Merchants goalie.

Special Congratulations:

Caden Bower and Patrick Klazer extended their point streaks to 6 games !!
Nolan Brett has 8 points in his last 4 games while Mack Easter has 6 points in his last 4.

What’s Next:

The Vets host the Tavistock Braves on Friday night at Southwood Arena on Minor Hockey Night.
We will also have “Fill the Net Toy Drive” in memory of Hunter Weston !!

In other action on Friday night, Tavistock beat Burford 8-1 and Wellesley beat New Hamburg 2-1 in OT.
