Vets lose close one on Minor Hockey and Toy Drive Night !!

The Navy Vets and Tavistock Braves staged a battle on Friday night at Southwood Arena.
Over 500 fans attended the Minor Hockey Night that also included a special Toy Drive in Memory of Hunter Weston.
The Braves scored in the 1st minute of the game and then the game was back and forth for the full 60 minutes with the Vets pulling to within 1 goal late and pressing all around the net for the equalizer with an extra attacker after pulling goalie Keaghan Brett.
Kyle Baker had 2 goals and added an assist while Drew Woods and Patick Klazer each had a goal and an assist while Braeden Nelson added 2 assists.
Keaghan Brett made 40 saves in taking the loss.

Special Congratulations:

Nolan and his family had a very successful Toy Drive in memory of his cousin Hunter Weston. Congratulations Nolan !!

The Vets will travel to Hespeler for a Sunday afternoon game.

In other action on Friday night, Wellesley beat Burford 6-1 and New Hamburg beat Norwich 6-2.

The Vets now stand alone in 3rd place 3 points back of Tavistock and just 1 point ahead of New Hamburg.
