The Navy Vets had a tough night on Friday at Southwood Arena.
The New Hamburg Firebirds jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period … and even after Griffin Sinden scored in the 2nd period to make it closer the Vets just couldn’t mount a strong enough comeback and ended up on the wrong end of a 2-1 score.
A large crowd was on hand to celebrate Canadian Paralympic star Garrett Riley in a pre-game ceremony.
The Vets still lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 in New Hamburg on Monday night and now Game 5 back here at Southwood Arena on Friday night.
