Vets win on successful Teddy Bear Toss night !!

Waking up with the Vets – Nov.27

Caden Bower scored at the 12:50 mark of the 1st period to set off a barrage of bears thrown on the ice in the annual Teddy Bear & Pajamas Toss Night !! … Bower scored again 6 minutes later to give the Navy Vets a 2-0 lead at the intermission. The Vets scored twice again in the 2nd period before Hespeler broke the shutout bid by Keaghan Brett early in the final period. The Vets added a final goal a couple of minutes later to make the final 5-1 for the Vets over the Shamrocks.
Bower had the 2 goals … with Nolan Brett, Jonah Jacksteit, and Gabe Costantini rounding out the Vets scoring. Kyle Baker added to his league-leading point total with 2 assists, while Drew Woods also added 2 assists.
Keaghan Brett made 28 saves for his 9th win of the season.

What’s Next:

The Vets travel to Norwich on Saturday night for the 4th meeting the Merchants in this season’s edition of the “Battle of Hwy 59” series. The Vets have won all 3 previous matches.

In other action on Friday night, Tavistock had to score in OT to beat visiting Norwich after a 3rd period comeback by Merchants to tie the game late. Wellesley won 2-0 in New Hamburg.
