Vets win battle in Norwich !!

Brodie Kearns scored twice including an empty-netter and added an assist to lead the Navy Vets to another “Battle of Hwy 59” win 6-3 in Norwich on Friday night.
The Vets have won all 4 matches between the teams so far this season.
Nolan Brett scored his Doherty Division leading 11th goal with the Vets on the powerplay to tie the game in the 1st period after the Merchants had opened the scoring.
Brady Carne, Ty Crombie, and Tyler Smeda with a beauty powerplay goal scored the others for the Vets.
Davin Gray added 2 assists to extend his PJHL league-leading point-streak to 14 games … Ethan Szabo also had 2 assists.
Scott Rodrigue made 29 saves to remain unbeaten in 5 games.
The Navy Vets remain in 1st place in the Doherty Division with a 12-1-1-0 record for 25 points … 2 points up on New Hamburg Firebirds but with a game-in-hand.
The Vets travel to St.Clements on Saturday night to meet the Wellesley Applejacks.
