The Navy Vets had a 5-goal outburst in the 3rd period to blow open their game with Hespeler at Southwood Arena on Tuesday night on way to a 10-3 thrashing of the Shamrocks.
The Vets scored early with 2 goals in the first 4 minutes of the game but then struggled and Hespeler was able to battle back and tie the score with only 3 seconds left in the opening period.
The Vets were able to get the scoring going again with 3 in the middle part of the 2nd period … including a highlite “lacrosse goal” by Kyle Baker which proved to be the eventual winner.
Then the outburst in the final frame solidified the victory.
Caden Bower scored twice for the Vets … Wes Dobbin with his 1st as a Vet, Mack Easter, Baker, Nolan Brett, Braeden Nelson, Dayten Lylyk, Ben Feijo, and Sam Barry getting the others. Griffin Sinden was a force all night contributing 3 assists.
Keaghan Brett had bounce-back game after 2 tough starts making 26 saves and keeping the game close until the offence could get going to record his 11th win of the season.
