Crombie’s winner with 2 mins left gets Vets back on track !!

Ty Crombie came off the bench with under 2 minutes left in the game and buried a snap shot from the slot to break a 1-1 tie and give the Vets the victory in Tavistock on Friday night … ending their brief 3-game losing streak !!
Mitch Penner added an empty-net goal to complete the 3-1 win.
The Braves held a 1-0 lead after the 1st period … Tyler Smeda with a powerplay goal tied it for the Vets late in the 2nd period.
Tyler Bouck was strong in the Vets net making 31 saves to record his 15th win of the season and was named 1st star of the game … he also chipped in with an assist on the last goal for his 4th assist of the season.
The Vets got a big boost when defenceman Chris Coulter returned to the lineup after being out for the last 6 games with an injury.
The Vets record is now 22-4-2-0 and remain 4 points ahead of 2nd place New Hamburg after the Firebirds OT win against Norwich on Friday night … but the Vets also still have a game-in-hand on the Firebirds.
The Vets travel to Hespeler on Sunday afternoon for a game with the Shamrocks.
