On Saturday night the Vets continued their weekend road trip in Burford as they looked to make it a perfect weekend and draw closer to the division lead currently held by New Hamburg.
It didn’t take long for the Vets to get on the board as Caden Bower opened the scoring just over 2 minutes into the game. While Burford’s Kyle Parsons tied it up mid-way through the frame it was then the Vets that took over with three goals before the end of the first frame to lead 4 – 1.
The second period offered much more of the same as goals by Bower and Klazer pushed the Vets further ahead before Burford’s Atreyu Elliott pulled the Bulldogs back a little bit closer. Burford would also score early in the 3rd period before Baker and Barry drove a few extra nails in the coffin. At the end of the night the Vets would come home with a 8 – 3 victory and two more points.
The Woodstock Powerplay was 2 for 4 while Burford scored once in six attempts to end the Vets 6 game PK unbeaten streak.
