A 4-goal outburst by the New Hamburg Firebirds in the 1st period put the Vets in a hole that they couldn’t recover from as they lost 7-1 at Southwood Arena on Friday night.
Patrick Holloway scored the lone Vets goal.
Joseph Clark took over from starter Tyler Bouck to start the 2nd period and made 32 saves in a solid effort. The Firebirds outshot the Vets 47-18.
The loss snapped the 4-game unbeaten streak of the Vets.
The Vets record is now 11-10-0-1.
They play in Wellesley on Saturday night.
