Scott Seagrist

Former Navy Vet Dr.Scott Seagrist was honoured as a member of the 2013 Woodstock Sports Wall of Fame induction class.

After winning the Junior C title with the Woodstock Navy Vets in 1968-69, he also saw time with the Oshawa Generals and London Knights in the then Ontario Hockey Association, now the Ontario Hockey League.

He went on to play hockey at the University of Toronto where they won two Canadian university hockey championships. Seagrist was part of a Varsity Blues team that defeated the Soviet Union’s national university team in 1972.

Seagrist went on to play three years with the Springfield Kings farm team in the American Hockey League from 1972 to 74 and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles in the Central Hockey League in 1974 to 75. He was drafted in 1972 by the World Hockey Association’s Chicago Cougars.

After hockey Seagrist went on to a medical career in the Kitchener and Woodstock areas.
