Doherty standings tighten !!

The Navy Vets swept both of their games this weekend !! …

Davin Gray scored 2 goals and added 2 assists to lead the Vets to a 9-2 victory over the Hespeler Shamrocks at Southwood on Friday night in the annual Remembrance Day Game.
Diego Sabino also chipped in 2 goals while Brady Carne, Aiden Kindurys, Lucas Balanca, Connor Stanley, and Charley Barnes added the others.
Nolan Brett had 3 assists while Balanca had 2 assists to go along with his goal.
Scott Rodrigue made 19 saves in picking up his 3rd win of the season.
Gray was presented the Sep-Oct Doherty Division Player of the Month prior to the game.
Navy Vets alumni Mike Gillespie participated in the opening ceremonies honouring the Canadian Veterans.
Mike played 92 games over 3 seasons for the Vets. In his Navy Vets career, he led the team in scoring 2 of the 3 seasons, scoring 40 goals, 39 assists, had one hat trick, played in 2 All Star Games, won MHL Player of the Month award in 2014 and the MHL MVP award in 2015. Mike departed for Canadian Forces Base Edmonton Alberta right before the Navy Vets Game 7 against Paris in 2015. Mike served for 3 years with the 1st battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. The 1st battalion is made of three rifle companies, combat support company comprising reconnaissance and signals platoons as well as a sniper group. During his time with The Canadian Army, Mike participated in NATO exercises in Alaska , Yakima , Wainwright , and Oromocto.

Nolan Brett scored with just over 8 minutes left in the 3rd period to give the Vets a 2-1 victory in Paris on Saturday night !!
Brett extended his point streak to 10 games …
Tyler Bouck was strong in the net making 35 saves to record his Doherty Division leading 8th win of the season
Charley Barnes scored the other Vets goal, his 7th of the season to lead all Doherty Division defencemen in scoring …
Rhylan Warford played in his 100th career junior game …

the victory was the Vets 3rd straight … they now have an 11-4-1 record just 1 point back of 3rd place Wellesley with a game in hand on the Applejacks and only 3 points behind 1st place Norwich but with 2 games in hand on the Merchants in what is a very tight race at the top of the Doherty Division …
they are the hottest team in the Doherty Division with a terrific record of 9-1-1 in their last 11 games

Davin Gray is in 2nd in the Doherty Division scoring race with 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points just 1 point back of the leader … Nolan Brett (5th) and Lucas Balanca (9th) are also in the top 10 scorers.
Tyler Bouck leads the Doherty Division with 8 wins and is 3rd with a 2.07 GAA & .942 SV%.
Charley Barnes leads the Doherty Division in defencemen scoring with 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points … Logan Pace-Roth is 3rd.
