Bouck & Vickerman shine in Vets win !!

Tyler Bouck made 36 saves and Cooper Vickerman scored a goal and added an assist in his debut as the Navy Vets shutout Grimsby 4-0 at Southwood Arena on Sunday night.

After a scoreless 1st period the Vets as they did Friday night against Thamesford turned it on in the 2nd period breaking out with all 4 goals they would score on the night within a 8 minute span early in the period.

Vickerman was playing his 1st game as a Vet and opened the scoring just over a minute into the middle frame and then made a beautiful setup for the Vets 3rd goal of the game by Dailen Fousek.

Gavin Birmingham continued his hot streak with 1 goal and 1 assist .. he scored 3 goals in the 2 pre-season games this weekend.

Tate McKenna had the other Vets goal.

Then Bouck, the Vets franchise career shutouts leader, took over looking very sharp making 15 saves in the 3rd period.

The Vets end the pre-season with a 2-1 record.

They will now turn their focus to the regular season Home Opener on Friday night Sep 12 against Wellesley.  Game time is as usual 7:45pm.
