Tyler Bouck’s outstanding play wasn’t enough as the Vets lost 5-2 to New Hamburg on Sunday night at Southwood …
Bouck made 39 saves … the Firebirds last 2 goals were into an empty net as the Vets pulled Bouck in favour of an extra attacker to try to tie the score late in the game.
Tate McKenna and Chris Coulter scored the Vets goals.
Davin Gray assisted on Coulter’s goal to extend his point streak to 9 games … while Nolan Brett had his streak stopped at 11 games.
Gray continues to lead the Doherty Division in scoring with 14 goals and 16 assists.
The Vets sit in 3rd place with a 12-5-0-1 record 3 points back of Norwich and 4 points back of New Hamburg … but with a game in hand on both teams … they also are only 1 point up on Wellesley who hold a game in hand on the Vets.
The Vets have a busy weekend ahead … they will travel down the highway to play in Norwich on Friday night, host Tavistock at Southwood on Saturday night for the annual Teddy Bear Toss Game, and then make there first trip to Dorchester on Sunday night.
