Gavin Birmingham scored twice to help lead the Vets to a 5-2 victory over Thamesford Trojans on Friday night at Southwood Arena in PJHL pre-season action.
Charley Barnes, Liam Gorman with his 2nd goal of the pre-season, and rookie defenceman Colin Shaw from the blueline on the powerplay scored the other Vets goals.
Owen Ireton and Dailen Fousek each had 2 assists.
Rookie forward Austin Doolittle had a great game as well.
The Trojans opened a 2-0 lead with goals early in the 2nd period after a scoreless 1st period, but then the Vets took control and went on for the win.
Rookie goalie Kobe Nadalin made 30 saves to earn the victory.
The Vets will host Grimsby at Southwood on Sunday @ 5:45pm in their final pre-season game.
