Big Weekend !!

The Navy Vets have a big weekend coming up …

First and foremost we have a unique quirky schedule situation where we will host the Hespeler Shamrocks at Southwood Arena on both Friday (Dec 02) and Saturday (Dec 03) nights … which will take us to the halfway mark of the regular season in terms of games played … currently sitting in 5th place with a 9-9-0-1 record a successful weekend of play would put us over the .500 mark heading into the 2nd half of regular season games …

But we also have some special events happening …

Friday Dec 02

Friday Night’s game vs Hespeler at Southwood Arena is the 2000th REGULAR SEASON GAME in Woodstock Navy Vets franchise history. We will have a special pre-game ceremonial puck drop featuring a couple of the players who played in the inaugural game back on Oct.23, 1966 a 10-2 win in Ingersoll against the Marlands.
Friday night is also the annual Teddy Bear and Pyjama Toss … when the Vets score their first goal toss those bears & pyjamas onto the ice. We ask fans to please bring brand new bears and pyjamas and to bring a grocery bag to place the item in prior to tossing on the ice to prevent them getting wet. We will have a small table of bears and pj’s available at the game for sale as well. Items collected will be distributed to community agencies including Power of Hope and Woodstock Police Services to stock up their cruisers.
