Lucas Balanca scored his 2nd goal of the game with just 36 seconds left on a terrific play by Gavin Birmingham to give the Navy Vets a 5-4 victory over the Wellesley Applejacks at Southwood Arena on Friday night.
It was a great way to start a big weekend at Southwood … with Woodstock Hockey Day happening all day Saturday involving WMHA games and the Vets hosting New Hamburg !!
Kyle Caron scored his 1st goal as a Vet and added an assist … while Charley Barnes and Brady Carne got the others for the Vets.
Tyler Bouck made 21 saves in recording his 5th win of the season.
The game also marked a milestone for Vets’ Head Coach Darren Young who was coaching his 250th game with the team.
The Vets-Firebirds game time is 5:45 tomorrow afternoon at Southwood.
